Am now trying to come up with counter examples of evil guitarists. I wanna say thereā€™s one in Scott Pilgrim, but I think that guy is a bassist.

Contemplating why the evil piano trope works, I think itā€™s a combo of piano and organ music being able to get pretty bombastic for a solo instrument and the fact that nonchalantly showing your back to your opponent is a power move.

love when an evil guy in an action movie plays the piano. itā€™s such an evil coded instrument. good guys play the saxophone or guitar

How about Bertie Wooster? I mean, itā€™s not exactly in the action genre, but there is a certain amount of falling into lakes involved.

Hugh Laurie as Bertie Wooster and Steven Fry as Jeeves doing a jazz call and response

The only way to prevent gigantic SUVs & pickups from killing pedestrians is to reduce car bloat. Technology alone wonā€™t do it ā€“ even if automakers claim otherwise. Me, in Slate šŸ§µ slate.com/business/202...

Anyway, sable shearwater is an excellent name, and Iā€™m not just saying that because Iā€™m biased (named my cat Sable).
