hello. this is my garbage can. it is a 1984 sportster XLX 1000. the second to last year of the ironhead engine which was in production from 1957. it is slow, loud, and it puts your feet to sleep. It is built like shit and I paid too much for it. Unfortunately, it is incredibly fun to ride

"Unfortunately, it is incredibly fun to ride" Yep. That's motorcycles. I've never been a Harley guy, but in the time I was selling them, I'd be lying through my teeth if I said I didn't enjoy scraping pegs off of Sporties.

when i got it it was a completely stock 6300 mile bike that had sat in some guys garage for 30 years. In order to make it rideable I had to put a mikuni on it as the stock carburetor was tuned so lean from the factory that it would fart fireballs out the intake no matter what I did

I regret not buying that 1981 Honda goldwing in 2016 for 1,000$ all the time

My neighbor across the street suddenly has two sportsters in their driveway. I’m not an expert but I’m guessing they are 90s. They look so good (as does yours). You can’t get that from HD now.

I miss my unremarkable suzuki cruiser. I was too fixated on sportbikes back then, I should have enjoyed it more.
