I cat-sit for 7 cats and find this assertion to be false 😅

I saw this post 5 minutes after seeing the notification of the Earth-directed X9 solar flare that just happened and had a little panic. Then I read your article and have now stopped panicking 😅

I think the uncertainties and potential for unintended consequences (that will likely disproportionately affect communities who have benefited least from the industrial revolution) in geoengineering take us very much into Trolley Problem ethical and philosophical territory 🤔

... so I would incorporate the revisions that are reasonable, and explain why the other revisions are not reasonable in my response to reviewers.

Sounds like you have both Reviewer2 and Editor2 😕. It's not abnormal to have multiple rounds of revisions. it's very normal for reviewers to make bad suggestions. I like to keep reminding myself that the process is about improving my work (without taking that personally)....

But I spent almost 15 years as an Ar/Ar geochronologist before shifting to wider noble gas geochemistry, so it is his Ar/Ar legacy that sits most with me. Here's a blog post I wrote about Ar/Ar dating, with more info on Grenville, from ~10 years ago thenoblegasbag.wordpress.com/2014/08/08/h...

How old is that rock? Part 3: ⁴⁰Ar/³⁹Ar dating
How old is that rock? Part 3: ⁴⁰Ar/³⁹Ar dating

In the previous blog I described how we measure the amount of ⁴⁰K, ⁴⁰Ar and ³⁶Ar to calculate how old a sample is. All good yeah? Unfortunately, not quite. While there are some samples and situations ...

Grenville didn't stop at Ar/Ar dating. He's been integral in developing all sorts of cool techniques where you indirectly measure small isotope concentrations by converting them to noble gases in a nuclear reactor.

I've been torn on the issue of generative AI for months now. As an artist, my instincts and emotions say "this isn't right". But so many of the anti-AI opinions doing the rounds are so full of emotive venom and inconsistent logic, that they make me doubt the message. 👆this approach is far better.

From the photos, I could convince myself that is a slickensided fault plane you have there. 🤔
