Hitler didn't take over thanks just to right-wing politics. He played the left on their political dreams of socialism in Germany. Flip the coin enough times, and hard leftists eventually show's you their leanings towards fascism anyway. Which just gets buried under all the propaganda eventually.

Cheney is being used by Harris' campaign to make a warning about the existential threat of Trump to people who would boo most Democrats off the stage. She's not being asked to speak about anything else. If Trump wins, the Cheneys will be high on his list of enemies to be dealt with.
