One thing I love about this show, and older anime in general, is they knew the value of silence. There are SO many monologues in anime now. It’s rare to go for even a minute without any talking. But this show does it often and to good effect. We don’t need to know what every character is thinking.

Thanks for your input! Those are all great ideas. I was mostly curious what worked within a game context, but I also wanted some ideas to potentially play up the “romantic” aspect of it. I hadn’t considered using “chemistry”, that’s a good one.

That’s what I figured after a bit of sleuthing around. It seems there is plenty of overlap at least among the video game community, but I wanted to gather input anyway. Thank you! This helps 😃

I think「お前だけは絶対許さない」is a common pitfall for “forgive” being used in subtitles. It’s tricky since context can vary from a character just being really pissed at someone (“You’re deader than dead meat!”) or it’s aimed at a villain who did some atrocious thing (“I’ll never let you get away with this!”)

This episode blew my fucking mind the first time I saw it. We spent all those weeks watching my them beat the bad guys no matter how tough they were and then suddenly new guy shows up and absolutely WASTES them. I couldn’t believe it. Hell of a way to start a second arc.

You’re welcome! Glad you enjoy them. Working on more to come!

Yeah, ultimately I appreciate my friends for getting me to watch it because I ended up liking it, but I totally wasn’t invested in the first few episodes. Symphogear hooked me from the start though! Hahaha

Homura in particular is well written to seem antagonistic, but her dialog has nuance to it. Same for her pained facial expressions. It’s interesting to watch knowing what happens before.

Did you know there’s actually a whole backstory to this? It’s never explored in the show (only a drama CD and the PlayStation game), but Taiga was part of a Sentai group called the Indomitable Defenders Five. “Gold Tiger” used a weapon called the “Full Metal Driver”, basically a golf club.

Thanks for sharing! I had never heard of this studio before, but it looks like they’re doing some amazing work! Hopefully this project comes to fruition in the near future, because it looks very kickass.
