what would’ve meant more than our awkward little alliance was to see the adults stand up. even if we lost. to see more than one man go to bat for us & say, “they have a place in the world, too.” standing up matters even if you lose. sometimes especially because you know you’re going to lose. 13/13

Losing isn't a bad thing; you can't win every fight, even if what your fighting for is just. Sometimes in the course of losing you find supporters & with their help, you can win another day. My lesson from your story is that when you fight, the people you are fighting for matter, & they hear that.
