i’m mad about the NYT a lot. it’s because sci am ⬇️ & every major medical org long ago reached consensus: trans care is effective; people who want/need puberty blockers &/or HRT have better outcomes & low regret. but in the US it’s NYT concern trolling that gets cited as fact in legislative bans.🧵

I think the most reasonable conclusion given their insistence on this is that someone high up at the paper has a grudge against us
in the UK, the absolutely bad faith cass review cited in that sci am article was used to ban best practice medical care for trans kids in a country where adult care is already appallingly hard to access, often requiring referrals & waiting periods that clock in at (last i checked at ~18 years). 🧵
