FYI, they didn't:
I really can't stress how much we need something below Patriot. Ideally, in the medium range, 50-90 km, which has a decent magazine depth and doesn't cost $2.5-3.3M per missile.
Sorry for the late reply. But yes, NASAMS would be very good, something like that to an extent. However, the system has half the range of HAWK. So, ideally, swapping the missile out for something like ESSM would be better. JATM will likely not see surface use due to $ and limited quantities.
This website seems to have an aggressive image compression algorithm. I promise all the photos I share here are of high quality. They just keep getting turned into something else.
I will most likely swap this gradient bsckground out for this sick photo I have been saving for years.
Placeholder cover for upcoming end of year digest volume. This one will not be as lengthy as the first volume. But it is also something I have been meaning to write about. Also, it made me realize that my monitor displays colors so much more differently than my iPad and other screens.
Bro thinks he's in the warrior class.
If you ever write a book on this, I will buy several copies.
LM has been better off than the others. Mostly due to its sheer size. They started investing in things like GMLRS, HIMARS, JASSM, and PAC-3 production way before they got contract awards from the DoD because they have the fiscal space to do stuff like that.
But the DoD really needs these companies to make these investments. On other ends, they need industry to be kept in check once management isn't showing willingness to tackle serious quality issues (like Boeing).
