Postmedia acquires the Chronicle Herald and immediately turns the front page of the paper into an ad for the Alberta government.
To be completely fair, it’s not unheard of for the Herald to sell the front page. Heck, in my experience they’ll sell anything they possibly can if folks are willing to pay for it. But an ad for Alberta is definitely out there.

I was at a Sunmedia paper when it was bought by Postmedia. It was amazing to see they could actually make the paper worse than it already was. Including a continuous stream of this sort of non-journalistic rubbish.
Locals have known it as the Chronically Horrid for decades, this just cemented it.
I would like to congratulate them on having the subtlety and restraint of a toddler that’s just chugged a latte.
In Alberta, a woman & her 2 daughters shop for groceries in a supermarket with gloriously wide aisles filled with generic boxes. Men don’t shop - Dad is at work in the oil patch & Kevin got dropped off at hockey practice. In this hellscape, there is only one kind of mac ’n’ cheese & it’s not Kraft.
I subscribed to the Chronicle Herald during all three postings to Shearwater/Halifax. This makes me sad, and a little angry.
