The 1st half origin of Santa Claus The Movie is still a great cinematic take on Santa Claus as an epic legend. It sets up its own mythology with the sweep of a 1950s biblical epic & the romance of Disney. Ben Hur by way of Snow White, on the framework of Superman the movie.

I've seen two very touching parent bereavement based films this year, both touching the blur between reality and fantasy: Scrapper and All of Us Strangers. Much recommended.
