Are the other plotholders a bit old school? Sometimes I think others don't appreciate what I'm trying to do either.

Not really. There's a wide range of approaches and the committee is pretty tolerant. I don't know why they don't like foxgloves as their seeds fall in situ and they don't have invasive roots. My dandelions now tolerated as long as I chop off their seeds before they fly around. Ditto grasses. cont/
