i guess i dont understand how you could have a *persistent* change in behavior w/o a parameter change? Unless you think activity "reverberations" can persist for more than maybe a few minutes.

Yeah, good point - I guess the question is whether it counts as learning if I forget it 30 minutes later? Could we call that learning then forgetting? Or was it simply never learning?
