I'm concerned about this, but I don't think the problem is the iconography. I think the problem is kids aren't incentivized to learn how to actually do anything on a computer anymore. I don't know many gen z people, admittedly, but I've heard the lack of computer literacy runs deeeeep.
The lack of literacy is there because the technology is so pervasive and effectively required (due to social implications and COVID e-learning) for young people, so a much larger share of Gen Z (we'll see for Gen Alpha) is going to be passively engaging with computers than any previous generation.
