Dear fellow cis people, let what happened to Nex radicalize you, so it never happens to another kid.

What happened to Brianna Ghey last year should have been the wake up call for cis people to take transphobia seriously. I sincerely hope Nex's case is the last one, that these hate-fuelled tragedies never happen again. Both of them deserved better.

As a grandparent of an NB child—a new concept for me when they announced it to us, though it makes perfect sense—I felt what happened to Nex like a punch in the gut. I don’t get why people find this hard; nobody’s making *you* question your gender. So yeah, get mad and get “radical.”
