I loved JRPGs growing up, but good lord do a lot of them not hold up these days. Probably doesn't help that a lot of the ones that don't tended to have pretty spotty translations, on top of everything else.

I loved JRPGs too, although I guess that was pretty much for me limited to Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy growing up (I still like those games!) The remakes and remasters etc. have updated them pretty well. It's stuff like PC RPGs-- Gold Box AD&D games, Might and Magic, etc. that daunt me.
