One of Trinity’s longest traditions is the annual signing of the Admissions Book. Today, 266 new students will inscribe their names in College history by signing the book themselves. ✍🏾 The images show poet Lord Alfred Tennyson’s entry from 1827, along with personal details written in his own hand.

Following his invention of the proportional compass, Galileo had his ideas stolen by one Baldessar Capra, who claimed to be the true inventor. The ‘Difesa’, is Galileo’s retaliation. He took legal action against Capra and won, leaving Capra in disgrace. 📐
Here at Trinity, we’re kicking off #BannedBooksWeek with a 1928 copy of Ulysses by James Joyce. This Shakespeare & Co. edition features a list of all print runs since its first publication in 1922, and details the number of copies seized and burned by authorities. 📚
