It was a great TPK to a gelatinous cube! I’m not precious about all those ludicrously slowly accumulated XP which I can barely track from one fortnightly session to another. Shotguns almost slaughtered that vile jelly.
Indeed! no reason to worry about experience points when you can whack a player character!
I like to run OSR pretty close to RAW but level 1 always lasts twice as long as it should. Still, a gelatinous cube is always a formidable foe.
