4 BIG click beetles for your Saturday night: 1 Chalcolepidius sp on tree near a creek, Belize, 2015 2 🔥beautiful Semiotus sp(?) on leaf, Colombia, 2023 3 Chalcolepidius viridipilis on trail sign, Oklahoma, 2021 4 👀Alaus sp "Eyed Click Beetle" w/ mites + pseudoscorpion, OK 2023
Was the pseudoscorpion in the same picture an amazing coincidence, or was it associated in some way with the eyed click beetle?
When my kid was six, they found an eyed click beetle at a lumber yard, and they'd just gotten a net and insect carrier. So they took it home, we set it up with pine needles, and it had a sleepover. My kid read it books, and we took it to a nature preserve the next day.
I love big click beetles and I cannot lie... One of my lifers is to see the Alaus with the phosphorescent eyes.
