Like "Maggie" and "Uljas" have nothing in common. At least using "Suurenmoinen" would open up "Suski" (common Finnish nickname for people named "Susanna") as a nickname. No idea why they didn't even change the nickname to something that resembles "Uljas". sigh (2/2)

Magnificent - Uljas I don't think this fits. "Uljas" means valiant, usually used when talking about a knight or a prince. Magnificent could be better translated as "Upea" or "Suurenmoinen". And some points docked for still using "Maggie" as a nickname even in the translations. (1/2)

That's the regular rainwings, now let's move to the queens. Easy start Dazzling - Häikäisy Fruitbat - Hedelmälepakko Direct translations down to the compound words! Fruitbat's translation is a bit of a mouthful tho, maybe just "Lepakko" (bat) would have been enough

Tamarin - Tamariini I thought it was some kind of spice. Idk how a dragon would be named after a spice, I don't think they use any. Anyway, tamarin is actually a kind of monkey

Kinkajou - Kinkaju I thought kinkajou was some kind of bird. Just to be clear, I listened the audio books and for a long time I thought her name was "Keekachu" and that just sounds like a loud bird. Anyway, kinkajou is actually a procyonidae species, related to raccoons and ringtails

Liana - Liana This is interesting, because we do have a translation for liana. To be fair, it is "Liaani". But there is a translation so I don't get why the translator didn't use it. Maybe they thought Liana was just a name and didn't bother researching? Idk

Jambu - Jambu I thought it was a fruit, and I was actually correct! Jambu fruit doesn't have a translation to Finnish, so we would probably call a jambu "jambu" here anyway.

Let's start with some easy rainwings Mangrove - Mangrove Orchid - Orkidea Bromeliad - Bromelia Coconut - Kookos Handsome - Komistus Just direct translations, and I knew what they meant lol

Same notes apply as before, I'm not a translator, this is just an opinion etc etc. Also, this time only, since many of the things rainwings are named after are completely unfamiliar to me, I'll tell you what I thought their names meant before doing research.
