The paper of record is out here celebrating misogyny. www.nytimes.com/2024/09/09/u...

Watching it now, though, I see it differently. Trump was a more cunning debater than he got credit for at the time, one who wielded ugly sexist attacks to his benefit, turned Clinton’s perceived strengths into weaknesses, and used his time onstage to steady his campaign.

My friend sent this to me so now you have to read it. This story reads like a red flag came to life and just got married. 1/ Gift link. www.nytimes.com/2024/09/06/s...

Screenshot of the top of the article from The New York Times mini-vows section. Title is "Like Jay Gatsby, He Threw Parties To Get Her Attention. It Finally Worked." The subhed reads "After Andrew Quintero spotted Sophia Babai on Instagram in 2016, it took four years and the help of a mutual friend to finally meet her in person."

So she’s just like every other woman walking down the street avoiding weird men yelling at her.

Kamala Harris wears earbuds, appears to ignore questions.

Seriously, my first book was about people who insisted that civil rights laws led to "restrictions of certain other rights." They were segregationists who believed they had a clear "right" to pick their neighbors, their kids' classmates, their customers. They called it "freedom of association."

A very key thing here, and still a prominent tic in our modern thought, is the absolute refusal to consider the concerns and rights of Black people as an actual factor when weighing what “freedom” means.
