#WordWeavers 10/15. Do you make any effort to make or avoid alliteration? If I can make it fit in naturally to the setting and plot, yes. I don't try to force it in, but it can be fun when used properly.

#WritersCoffeeClub 10. How do you plan and research your stories? Just got back from a trip to TWO college libraries where I checked out a total of 7 books to begin research for a character I want to develop. Research is the platform from which I build my story.

Today is National Southern Food Heritage Day. With roots deep in Virginia and North Carolina, I grew up on Southern food - yep, I'm a Sweet Tea, Cornbread (or Biscuits), and Black-Eyed Peas kinda girl.

#WritersCoffeeClub 10/8 What's your favourite food and drink combo when writing? A morning cup of tea, an afternoon homemade mocha frappe. I don't eat while I'm writing. I hate cleaning crumbs from my keyboard!! And, if I am deep into it, my husband reminds me that I've not eaten all day.

Spent the weekend in Hertford, NC, home of the Miss P, a replica of the periauger boats which are in my novel. Got interviewed by the local press and ended up in a newspaper story which mentioned my book. Woo-Hoo! #amwriting#writingcommunity
