yeah, I ask because the horse chestnut is not susceptible to the same problem so they've never gone away. lots of big ones here in Cambridge too. no American chestnut ever gets that mature at this point, except for the new hybridized ones 🤞

my personal get off my lawn chair is that mosquitoes used to be big enough to be noticeable (and swattable) and now we've got mosquitoes that look like gnats but still carry a payload. they suck.
