Which #nativeplants have you found most prone to naturalizing, "escaping cultivation," or otherwise ending up somewhere you did not put them? A few of the biggest winners of this title in my yard ... 🌱 Penstemon, both P. hirsutus and P. digitalis Blue mistflower Blue wood aster Self-heal
Mine are nigella (love-in-a-mist) and columbine. Both pop up all over the garden 🌱❤️
Mint family: oregano Lambs ears
Penstemon digitalis Rudbeckia triloba, good grief Viola sororia Rubus occidentalis Solidago, but I don’t know what kind
Columbines! I have three different colours in my yard and I didn't plant any of them. I've been transplanting the ones I like into my new flower beds. I also have a wild daisy in one of my beds and no idea how it got there. Seems happy there, though. :)
Sections of our property are almost entirely native violets at this point. Neither of us are complaining!
Lavender hyssop wants to take over my yard. Verbena hastata is also nuts.
and, it goes without saying, late boneset - which I ironically put here on purpose after it died back in this area of the yard. (This plant had previously been livening up a vacant veggie garden bed.)
