The amazing thing about GWR is its outreach is HUGE- millions of copies sold (mainly to kids these days) in dozens of languages. My in-laws just picked up a copy of the Dutch one if you’re curious! So cool to reach so many diverse audiences!

A colleague went to do a job interview in fall 2020 in Copenhagen. She said they flew her out, she went to work w them and gave a talk, then they took her out for drinks after. It was pretty surreal to hear at the time, but yea pandemic was never taken as seriously there.

Thanks! It’s kind of wild to think about the journey it took to get here, but I’m excited to explore the universe with my students! :)

We were more just really excited to see him! Also, funny because husband def spent a few evenings trying to photograph our flying bat neighbors. Never succeeded, vs this guy is just... there. We are def buying some bat houses now though, don't want him to make a habit of the umbrella!

It was! Don’t think I would have gone there for vacation* but for a conference it was pretty good, compact and lots of good food options for dinner eating fresh fish by the Med * Crete proper seems awesome tho and do need to explore more someday!
