I, Monster (Stephen Weeks, 1971) might be a surprisingly faithful adaptation of Dr. Jeckyll & Mr Hyde in spite of the name change, but both Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing deserved a better movie, with tighter writing and pacing. As it is, it falls a bit flat. #horror#amicus#horrorfilm

The Freudian angle takes a sizeable portion of the first half but feels neglected afterwards, and therefore gratuitous. It is a pet pieve of mine to see Freudian ideas used as motivation for evil. Hammer's Hands of the Ripper pulled the same shtick. Let the old Sigmund alone!!

Yeah, I found it quite drab, until I found out it was filmed in 3-D. Watching it that way makes it far more fun to watch.
