Cannot wrap my head around the number of people who are willing to look past a ballplayer's ugly sins just because he died today. "It's not the time" is what horrible people count on happening so that their memory gets whitewashed. #MLB

#Bluejays have fired hitting coach Guillermo Martinez, a source close to Martinez confirms. If Shapiro/Atkins believe this will be enough to satisfy the bloodlust of the fanbase, they are more than likely incorrect. I think Matt Hague has the inside track to take over.

Yes, Pete Rose bet on baseball and lied about it for decades. But today is not the time to focus on that. Today is the time to focus on the fact that when he was 34 and married with two kids he committed statutory rape with one girl and allegedly many others and then lied about *that*.

Pete Rose was an iconic baseball player, to be sure. But he also bet on #MLB#SpeakTruthOfTheDead

Just submitted my ballot for American League MVP. I'm truly honoured to have gotten the opportunity. I took the process very seriously and did some deep dives. I didn't just look down the WAR list and I tried to not get galaxy-brained. Can't reveal my choices yet, but 10th place was a write-in. #MLB

At the end of every season, I take a poll of #Bluejays players, coaches and support staff. They vote for the team's MVP, Pitcher of the year, Rookie of the year and Unsung Hero. The results are in, and you can read them right here:

Mike Wilner: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was the obvious MVP for the 2024 Blue Jays. But who did his teammates vote as top pitcher?

Toronto players, coaches and staff voted in Mike Wilner’s long tradition of honouring their best as the season wound down.

IT’S A BRAND-NEW EPISODE OF DEEP LEFT FIELD!!! #Bluejays season is over and it did not end well. Didn’t start well, either, and the middle wasn’t all that great, to be honest. We break it all down with manager John Schneider on this special bonus episode!
