Not only should you NOT provide amazon with your palm print, you should be doing everything you can to keep your finger- and palmprints out of high resolution images, as a whole. (Also your keys, but please tell me you know that already.)
But, hear me out, what if I put my keys in my palm, and then, before taking a picture of them, I made a fist and punched the camera really hard?
I was rewatching 'Smallville' recently and a twenty year old show actually had a plot point where a hacker's identity was revealed when he held up his palm to a webcam and they scanned his fingerprints from it. Twenty years ago.
Can't wait for some callouses or poison ivy to lock people out of their accounts.
This goes right along with "don't install a camera surveillance system owned by a third party in your home"
Man I won’t even use the fingerprint ID on my own phone let alone Amazon my god
I didn't know.
I don't fuck with ANY bio metric services that aren't employment mandatory. Plus, they hardly work due to my fingerprints being screwed up to all hell.
I have not been doing face/finger unlocks for anything.
I can't believe when I was younger we weren't supposed to say our real names online and some people thought product barcodes were evil, and now we have *gestures at the panopticon"
