I loved doing skirmish matches in Command & Conquer 3 with the AI set to "turtle" personality mode having it where they just built up their base a lot and trying to fight to destroy it was fun to me
I will say, as someone who only had a little bit of experience with shmups before playing this, i'd maybe recommend Darius Gaiden. That specific game, along with the other games in the series, helped me a little bit with getting into the genre
FIghting games I can kinda play against the AI on whatever default difficulty they have set, but against people, it's gonna either be i get lucky or they curb stomp me the time investment too with learning a bunch of stuff kinda gets to me as well. lots of other things i could play
had to go with all four of these because they're the most memorable ones that come to mind for me I love Vampire Savior/Darkstalkers 3 even though i am by all means not great at fighting games
Tron 2.0 was a pretty good game that also acted as a sequel to the movie. Made by Monolith too, back before they got bought by WB and made to never make another FPS again
Klonoa I wish would get another shot. Not sure how the remaster collection did exactly, but i'm surprised they never looked into finally doing a release of Klonoa Heroes from the GBA over in the west.
