Fantastic!
All honor and support to the Sandys who like their name!
He changed his moniker when he left home too lol
Yeah, my brother and I were Andy and Sandy. Pretty sure that's why my folks chose the nickname.
You missed plain ole "Xan" (which is what I used for decades before I went back to the full name). But yeah. And everyone wants to shorten it.
I was "Sandy" as a little girl which is apparently a common nickname for Alexandra, and lemme tell you I dumped that shit the second I moved out of my parents' home at 17.
Good for you. I have resorted to begging for extra pay, not in my current contract, for a project that MUST be completed for my job, and they've just been ghosting me. I really don't want it to come down to refusing to do the work. Kinda at a loss.
There's a wonderful Wendell Berry essay about the Ozarks (?) and how we've destroyed the landscape's ability to absorb rainfall. Been looking for it for several days (can't find the book, I think I must have Little Free Liby'd it)
There's been something of a revival of women's social institutions--Junior League, Girl Scouts, and numerous service orgs (in Chi- Impact, Service Club, et al) that used to be places for wives of wealthy bizmen and are now filled with professional women. They do a lot of good work.
Reader, I got the Pringles
