actual tip for people new to bsky: far more than the other site Alt Text here is very widely used and encouraged on picture and gifs. it's a strong enough norm that many people literally won't quote/like/reply to an image post without it. there's an option you can set that will remind you to add it♥️

The only problem with living in a spot that is surrounded by trees is that when you see signs of a really good sunset, you have to drop everything, hop on your bike and race to an open area. I managed to hit two good spots tonight, and probably reached my top speed on my bike between them.

A blaze of orange and yellow lights up the end of a gravel road that is lined by the silhouettes of Spruce trees. This incredibly bright sunset reaches up into the sky, painting, the wispy clouds, dark red against the fading blue.
The sky looks like it’s on fire right above the horizon and dark red, flares up into the underside of wispy gray clouds that reach up to the top of the photo. in front of this dramatic sunset is a line of dark trees weigh in the distance bounding the shore of a very large lake.

I've been asked if you can tell polar bears apart, and the answer is definitely. Each bear is an individual. They look and act differently. The first two photos are of the same male bear, and the last two are of another male bear. See how many differences you can spot. 🌿🦊🐻‍❄️

A large male polar bear looks directly at the camera as it walks through a tangle of grass and shrubs. He has widely-spaced eyes and a round nose and pure white ears.

A large male polar bear walks through a tangle of willows and grass. He is looking slightly downward and into the distance. His eyes are more closely spaced and his muzzle is longer and narrower. His ears have black tips on the fur, which may be something caught in the hair.

Taking a stab at a starter pack of Evolutionary Biologists — this was trickier than expected both because of the interface setup and because of the 150-person limit go.bsky.app/TUNHbNu

In some countries donations can be tax deductible, so you can pay an NGO a fraction of your taxes instead of the govt

That is super interesting! Any chance your company would be interested in supporting the recovery of the wolf in Mexico?
