I avoid replying much because of how the “show replies with >X likes” setting works for high-follower accounts. Users who have a low threshold see my replies, then their likes quickly push it over the threshold for others. I’ve been meaning to post about this but I guess I can just reply here.

Exactly what you described sent me here

Yes and thank you. This is exactly why I unfollowed some other popular accounts; they completely dominated my feed. I wish there were 2 thresholds: for replies to people I also follow (probably set to zero!) and replies to people I don't follow (set considerably higher). Or per user, even.

Definitely liking this so that others are forced to read it and like it.

I'll just say that some of us barely-scraping-by accounts *rely* on that behaviour. One positive interaction with a high-follower account can result in many people that would otherwise never realise I existed discovering me and my work.

I really wish @bsky.app had a feature where you could toggle seeing replies on or off for each account you follow. It's very much a case by case basis for me.

Worked fine for me.

Trying to decide if I should like this

Want to introduce a likes/[user followers] quotient to filter replies?

A mockup of a new replies filter setting that would only show replies where likes of the post divided by the followers of the poster exceeds a certain ratio. For example if set to 0.005 a reply from a user with 10.000 followers would need 50 likes before showing up.

Yeah, it's annoying, I've had to unfollow some accounts with larger audiences

@pfrazee.com since I don't know who to tag (sorry), but it is a problem if you follow both high and low follower accounts. I do like the threshold idea. Any suggestions?
