BigBadBoycott organizers reach agreement with tabletop convention leadership
“Big Bad's leadership has acted and failed to act in ways that have been harmful to the community, especially to people of colour.”
Annoying that Insta won't allow me to post a proper link, but: This is Mestre Guilherme's studio: Ceramica Familia Santana www.instagram.com/fsceramica 4/4
Sharon tells me about Guilherme, and his craft, and the hope his example brings us. We want the kind of life he leads: a practical life of making in one's own place, supported by one's own art, answering to and in conversation with one's own community. 3/
His clay is from the local river. His motifs are indigenous, or gifts from other makers. The one on this pot is called "Broken Shell". It was a gift from a visiting artist. Now he makes it. "You don't know how many times I have carved this pattern," he says. 2/
MESTRE GUILHERME, AND THE BROKEN SHELL When Sharon was in Belem she met Mestre Guilherme, a master ceramicist. He showed her his work studio. Everything---the wheel, the various tools and knives---he had made himself, over the years. "All I want to do is sit here and make things," he said. 1/

Missing a player for your weekly game? Wish you had some justification for why they're missing? Summoning spells work both ways, baby. They were conjured into another realm by a wizard to help with their battles.

I'm not afraid to speak my mind about things, but there are some things I decide I didn't know enough about, others I didn't see why need to be involved, and still others where my opinion is complicated enough I'll need a 5k word essay at least to explain it. www.psychologytoday.com/au/blog/comm...
Two-thirds of Americans now say that they are afraid to say what they believe in public, because someone else might not like it.
