I saw this article very late. About the whole argument on dividing social media into progressive & conservative silos...is it that scary? Who wants to sit with a mix of people from both aisles at a bar? Doesn't that start bar fights? Unless it's Christmas with family, people usually avoid this.
The great migration from Elon Musk’s X has seen users, especially progressives, retreat into one particular silo
"echo chamber" is a criticism that's only labeled at places that reject far-right ideas, as if not wanting to hear a bunch of racists is some social taboo these stories are rarely written about right wing sites that aggressively go after groups of people they hate
That article was hilarious. The idiot who wrote it got blocked by half of Bluesky, and I don't know if she ever figured out how clueless she'd been because I was in the half which blocked her.

What they're essentially doing is asking people on the left to extend an olive branch to people who don't even see us as human. Why do the right never ask fellow right wingers just to stop being so damned bigoted?
I don’t mind reasonable conservative or moderate voices. But when they’re also being drowned out by Nazis…
tbf she gets very close to that realisation and to putting the responsibility where it belongs. as you say, it's not particularly interesting that people congregate where it's more agreeable, that's what agreeable means!
The secret of this article is it was written by a nasty english bigot who didn't see herself as a nasty bigot. She didn't like that she felt unwelcome in the "better" silo and instead of becoming less of a nasty bigot, she wrote this trash.
These articles feel like they're written by right wing arseholes furious that a less hateful family member has refused to come to theirs for Christmas because they won't tone down the bigotry over the dinner table
How many people are estranged from families and don’t do Christmas at all? These types of articles all seem to be written by apologists for a racist grandad who wants his use of racial epithets to be accepted.
There was a time when I relished it because I liked trolling wingnuts. Expressing one's schadenfreude CAN still be fun, but there's also just so much ugly shit out there.
