Microsoft, I promise you; if you re-launched Windows 7 as-is with modern security updates, and add the *tiny* amount of good features that are in Windows 10/11, you’ll have a slam dunk of an OS. Everyone loved Windows 7 from inception to today, it was nearly perfect.

I still gotta set up the "new" machine with the proper Win7, it's been using an unstable unregged one since 2016. Still gotta replace a few questionable parts before I attempt it though. I have some complaints though, no useful search engine & file browser is missing shortcuts, prefer WinXP's.

I can't count how many times 10 did something bad that prompts my response "7 never did that >:(". I will miss it dearly

I've been using 11 since July and I miss the amount of stuff that was present in 7, namely the Aero Glass theme customisation. there was also a bug/exploit/idk what that allowed you to change the login screen background that i really liked. overall it was much more stable than 11 and 10 combined tbh

And yes, keep the Win 7 aesthetics. Aero is fucking beautiful. Make it highDPI if anything, and that’s it.

I am highly nostalgiac for XP but win7 was where it was at. I totally agree that if they gave some security updates and a few of the extra useful tools that you come from the most recent windows versions that it would be super ideal
