NYT's staffing reaction to the invasion of Ukraine was to hire a few russian journalists. Ukrainians are beyond exasperated about the state of affairs at NYT.
it's because the new headline is like "here's a mystery that you can only read the article to solve"
but that's just you? pukin kills people. nothing new here he does that for past 60 years he literally started with executing ducklings at school while cosplaying nkvd, and he never stopped but a headline of PUKIN DID SUCH A THING..! BY THE MEANS OF A SIMPLE SOVIET..! doesn't tell you the contents
I am so exasperated with the clickbait style at NYT that I'll read a headline like that and say to myself "FUCK YOU I don't care what it is." The second hed just conceals the content of the story, that's not even tantalizing.
The NYT A/B tests headlines, so I'm sure they have a huge amount of data about what kind of headline gets the most clicks. blog.tjcx.me/p/new-york-t...
