After 17 years at 3 universities I can say with confidence that this won't significantly impact web a11y work in higher ed. We need to move beyond a compliance model. Institutions need a carrot, not a stick, to create meaningful change for web users. Grants, funded positions, training programs.
Access by default benefits everyone. It creates environments that are more flexible, user-friendly, and considerate of all needs. From parents with strollers to older adults and injured individuals, accessibility touches more lives than we realize. #Accessibility#SDGs#a11y#HumanRights#Equity

Thought after reading the court doc from one of the Sweetgreen a11y lawsuits: How in the world is engaging in a settlement not an admission of wrongdoing? At the very least it’s an acknowledgement that something is wrong. Is that the delineation? Doing of wrong versus something wrong exists?
