Beautiful stuff. Glad I got to see them a couple of times before they split. Singer Joe O'Leary runs a class wee pub now in Ballydehob, Cork if you're ever down that way. youtu.be/v0LUfZ2XxQg?...

Look who the boat brought over. Clare Murphy, landed in straight from the Cape Clear Story Telling Festival to Levis Corner House. Catch her when you can: claremurphy.org#StoryTelling#LevisCornerHouse#Ballydehob#WestCork#ClareMurphy

A busy photo of Clare Murphy, centre, facing the audience, above their heads, from the steps by the boat with assorted bunting and decorations overhead.

I left my camera at home this time and walked down to meet a couple of friends for a Monday evening with Clare.

Captivated.

Six hours earlier the young fox scampers across the church grounds, not out of fear, not tame, just for fun. šŸ¦Š #Fox#Wildlife#WestCork#Ballydehob#VideoStills#ShittyCamera

First of two video stills on a young fox scampering across the church grounds about 10 metres away.
A second video still. The fox scampers towards a small tree and past a statue in an alcove of the Virgin Mary.

A chance encounter in the middle of the night. One of my neighbourā€™s cats hanging out with a curious young fox. Iā€™d just biked back from a friendā€™s when I noticed these two in the shadows. šŸ±šŸ¦Š #Cat#Fox#WestCork#Wildlife#ShittyCamera#Ballydehob#NightLife

One of my neighbourā€™s cats hanging out with a curious young fox.

Iā€™d just biked back from a friendā€™s when I noticed these two in the shadows. The cat came over to say hello and the fox stuck around, approaching, sitting, scampering about for a good ten minutes.
The fox gingerly scampering closer.

It wasnā€™t phased, but did stay at that maybe / not sure distance.

Fox edging closer to the carpark entrance.
The curious little fox pauses by the entrance to carpark about 3 metres away.
The little fox would scamper, sit and repeat. Up to today itā€™s been a while since Iā€™ve had a fox up this close.

Made it back in time to meet another friend, Lucas, an artist before he headed back to Germany. Also in time to get a stuffed Paratha & coffee from Budds Cafe. Then bumped into two friends about to head off on their bikes for an evening swim. #BuddsCafe#Ballydehob#eBikes#WestCork

Stuffed Paratha with salad and chutney. The paratha was a bit ā€˜bakedā€™ dry on the edges. Not sure what happened there. Tasty all the same.

Also in the picture, a half drunk coffee and water with a metal water jug
Three eBikes on a hill.

These are the same make and model bike.

One a large frame in green, the first in the village has a slightly different interface and handlebar controller. The other two, newer, are medium frames in dark grey.

Mine has the panniers, trunk box because I canā€™t help but carry stuff. Snacks, stove, togs, towels and rain gear. I like to stay out as much as possible without the extras on my back if I can help it.

A planned two day mountain hike up in Dingle w/ a friend got postponed. So I took off on the bike facing into a warm westerly headwind all the way out to Ballyrisode for a high tide swim via the Altar Wedge Tomb. A nice slow mooch. #WestCork#Ballydehob#Ballyrisode#Altar#WedgeTomb#Megalithic

Screenshot: Map showing route out and back from Ballydehob to Ballyrisode.

A 42.6 kilometre trip which at times followed the Euro Velo 1 cycling route, alternates and the main road.

Two hours and forty one minutes moving time.
Seen from the back, the famous megalithic Altar Wedge Tomb near Toormore, West Cork.

This is a popular stop off point along the Mizen Peninsula in all weather.

The tomb aligns with the peak at Mizen Head about twelve kilometres away. A peak that was ā€˜handmadeā€™ into the point we see today.
My bike with panniers parked on the grass in the foreground, with a couple of cars and a red camper van in the carpark at the Altar Wedge Tomb.

I stopped here mainly for a little break from the headwind. That didnā€™t work. Those south westerlies were insistent.
Ballyrisode beach looking back east with Mount Gabriel in the distance.

A shallow inlet popular with families.
