It took actually following through on a "get nothing done, actually rest" weekend day to feel how badly I needed one. Tomorrow has things booked, but I may need to make Tuesday a rest day as well before heading off to BigBad for a busy weekend. Dear neurodiverse friends: please take rest days.

A friend of mine who likewise helped run BigBad for years and who likewise dropped out described it as a sort of "bunker mentality" amongst leadership, a group of people in agreement on most things yet initially too busy digging into defensive positions to agree on a direction. /1

So, I've been thinking about this, and listening to everyone talk, and.... The folks behind the #BigBadBoycott@bigbadcon.bsky.social did not handle the issue of the panel language the best way possible, but, to go from that to "BigBad is complicit in genocide," is a reach.
