How does cellebrite get past the phone’s authentication systems? I was hoping to see some information on whether any of the advanced data protection settings on iOS and android are effective against tools like this.

read about Cellebrite, an incredibly invasive device developed by an Israeli tech company that can mirror all your phone's data - and how cops including the ones here in Portland are abusing its capabilities

Can we talk about how Sunsoft somehow owns cellebrite, one of the largest counterintelligence, wiretapping, hacking softwares used by regimes like Saudi Arabia, Israel, Russia and the US. Because I've never heard this mentioned before? Or maybe everyone knows.

NYPD has cellebrite, or a similar tool. They would have used that. It's a predatory tool that is shockingly available to police.

www.404media.co/eric-adams-t... Lol @ "I forgot." Like the article suggests, cell phone forensic tools like GrayKey or Cellebrite will cut through that 6 digit PIN (whether its all numbers or not) like a hot knife through butter.

“But, Adams further claimed, he had forgotten the password he had just set, and thus was unable to provide the FBI with a password that would unlock the phone.”

Really great point from a prosecutor friend: Eric Adams hasn't been on the beat since the cops used beepers, payphones, etc. It's very possible he has little/no idea of the capabilities of the modern law (cellebrite, greykey, etc).

Good advice. IMPORTANT: tools like Graykey and Cellebrite can crack locked iPhones sometimes, even with biometrics disabled. Use a long alphanumeric passphrase instead of a PIN Your iPhone is MUCH easier to crack if it's merely screen-locked vs. powered off. If you have time, POWER OFF your phone

would love to know if apple or android is working on a feature to detect when a cellebrite device gets plugged into their ports. seems like this will be the only way to ensure 4th amendment protections

And the most widely used phone cracking tech is made by Cellebrite based in Israel.
