It has begun... After completing my certificate and diploma, I am starting the final phase of the #Strathclyde#genealogy

That does make sense. I guess I didnā€™t delve that far into the family history/genealogy part. I was captivated by whatever the fuck was going on at the neighbors though. Shit was just wilding over there.

I tested with Ancestry & have added to MyHeritage & GedMatch. 23&me doesn't take Ancestry DNA. I did it more for help with my tree. I knew my ethnicity info already from my genealogy work. My ethnicity info is slightly different on each site.

Iā€™m glad I blocked everything, and opted out of everything, initially. I had just wanted to confirm my heritage. It validated my decades of genealogy, 50% Italian, 50% Ashkenazi Jewish.

Better late than never! This week I look at relatives who have received civil honours in the Netherlands, at the lowest (or least, in keeping with this week's prompt!) degree of the order. #52Ancestors#genealogy#FamilyHistorydeckofancestors.wordpress.com/2024/10/04/5...

Ooh thatā€™s a good idea! Iā€™ve always had a hankering to teach genealogy as a tool for anti-racists. Providing tools to help people investigate the roots of racists!

I read this as Genealogy for Activists and Iā€™d love that talk as well one for archivists.

I have Cherokee ancestry from a woman who married a white man in the early 19th century (I don't know the exact years, one of my aunts has copies of the genealogy) and, like, I can only assume she made the choice to assimilate as a matter of survival. Inasmuch as choice was involved.

I'm looking forward to delivering my day course on Genealogy for Archivists in association with @ARAMidlands in one of my ancestral homes, Worcester. If you have never felt confident talking about genealogy or helping family historians, this for you. t.co/B8zrkXeoVn
