I heard that people were offended that Hadestown is a bummer and like Honey You don't get to do that. It tells you that at the start. You know it's a bummer at the start of the play. You are told this is gunna be a bummer.
I have only heard a couple songs from Hadestown, but judging from the context I've gathered from the songs, is it just the story of Orpheus, but in a different time period?
