Prof Hinkley never has a third cup of coffee at home
I don't like arguments like these at all. I think they're terrible from a centre left perspective as they make environmental protections appear silly. They also undermine the professional expertise of those who work in environmental fields.

Großbritannien schaltet sein letztes Kohlekraftwerk ab – und zeigt damit, dass ein Industriestaat auch ohne diese klimaschädlichste Form der Energiegewinnung funktionieren kann.
We've never heard this before, have we? 'Ministers and EDF argue Sizewell C should be cheaper and easier to build than Hinkley Point C as lessons will have been learned from that project.' What lessons have been learned from withdrawal of CGN's contributions to overrun costs on Hinkley Point C?
UK ministers have made contingency arrangements to fund the Sizewell C nuclear power project in case a final agreement with potential private investors is delayed by as much as two years, officials have admitted www.ft.com/content/2a5d...

Just don’t pull a John Hinkley, okay?
sure, some new renewables, to now. Only new nuclear so far will be Hinkley Point C (I remember the original planning enquiry on the news as a west country kid) but there's so much more wind and solar, plus batteries & some new inertia projects.../
There are several at the Hinkley Point Visitor Centre - well worth going if you can join or organise a group www.canningtoncourt.co.uk/hinkley-poin...
I don't think so either. As I said varying degrees. Most likely are Longmuir, Hinkley, Goodwin, Voss and Beveridge. All the others are pretty safe. Longmire is a special case. Is the lack of success due to having a team that plays above itself to get to the GF or is it the coach? Up to the club.
Imagine if the state had taken over PG&E after Hinkley. Many of those major fires might not have happened.
