Next month I'll be at RetroFest 2024 at the Centre for Computing History in Cambridge on both Saturday 9th November and Sunday 10th November, showing everything I do to keep the #SAMCoupe#ZXSpectrum#RC2014www.computinghistory.org.uk/pages/30677/...

Eventually, this assemblage will become a Z180-based computer running CP/M 3. It's an SC500 series backplane (smallcomputercentral.com/modular-z50b...) with an add-on backplane segment that adds three RC2014 bus slots. Right now, it's just the power regulator board and the CPU/RAM/ROM board.

There. Any more fiddling and I risk hating the result. #retrocomputing#z80#cpm#rc2014

Quazar makes some interesting and useful boards for the Sam Coupe, Spectrum and RC2014. I got chatting to Mr Quazar aka Colin at Retrofest 2023 - we were on opposite tables. He's a very interesting and lovely chap.

I built Stephen Cousins excellent SC129 Digital IO board for the #RC2014 this morning. It worked first time, so here is a short animation of it running a Cylon / Knight Rider scanner on the output LEDs.

flash memory cartriges, ZX-RC Bus Interface) and the RC2014 (Graphic OLED interface, SID sound chip interface, ZX True Tone [ZXTT]). Info on all these non-SAM peripherals is covered on my main site at: www.samcoupe.com

Second kit is another one of my favourites. This is brill for experimenting with as the Z80 bus is easily accessible. It’s also set a standard, with many kits providing an RC2014 bus header for peripherals. Also, if you’ve not heard of the RC2014, where have you been?

Continuing porting across some example code to tinker with the TMS9918A emulation firmware on the propeller based VGA RC2014 card which I'm using on my SAM Coupe. This time it's the sprite demo, using two sprites to draw a bouncing, spinning globe - one sprite is the blue pixels, the other green.
