Fuck scrivener for formatting a book file. It’s so unclear and complicated. If I buy article will you promise to buy at least 200 copies of my book so I can afford it?

I tried scrivener and hated it, so my WIP is currently divvied up over 3 Google docs (my files were really big and slow to work with). It’s… fine? My only complaint is the file sizes, but if you can work with that then it’s a solid solution.

admittedly, the whole thing has been triple soured for me after the whole "disliking support of child abuse = terminally online mean girl drama" and AI bros with checkmarks disasters, but still. fuck NaNoWriMo, and fuck Scrivener, and triple fuck generative AI. quadruple fuck its supporters.

is scrivener still good for writing or is there something better now

Got up at 5 am to continue with line and copy-editing. Pitch black outside. Long weekend ahead. Tighten, refine, lather-rinse-repeat. Onward. Drinking coffee, listening to Mogwai, God is an Astronaut, and El Ten Eleven, and starting the morning with Linguistic Focus in Scrivener.

I would need to carve out a couple of hours to do the transfer, then the install, then the install of all the bits and bobs that Debian/Gnome don't come with (flatpak, extensions, Lutris/Scrivener, email, firewall, Timeshift, etc. etc. etc.) #Linux#LinuxMint#LMDE#Debian#Gnome#FOSS#OpenSource

Settling in to write (line and copy edits) on a Friday night, listening to Mogwai, and watched over by Ganesh. Nice part is that I'm already below my word limit, so I don't have to ruthlessly cut cut cut. I'll still likely cut a couple of hundred words from the ~3750 I currently have, though.

Como é feito em pandoc, vc converte pra qualquer formato, pra LATEX, pdf, pra qualquer scrivener da vida. Se precisar reescrever pra diversas revistas, basta colocar a URL/ arquivo da revista e converte. Não precisa ficar reformatando tudo de novo.
