They compare it to the tonal mismatch of "Scrooged," which I *get* on an objective standpoint, but that movie works brilliantly for me because Murray is putting in this effort that Chase is incapable of doing.
Saw Scrooged in the theater back in the day, and during the credits everyone actually followed along and sang! I also didn’t really know who Murray was at the time, but so many olds guffawed at him, I started to understand his great comedy timing (still one of my fav movies)
