Bullets were flying across the settlement. Pinging off of wood and sending woodchips flying into the air, the shrapnel almost as dangerous as the bullets themselves. Veronica was not a fighter. That was never her intent. That was Clive's entire design; to be the killer that she could never be. -

I think that fungi growing on woodchips and mulch are a bit less affected by the seasons than fungi growing in grass and soil. I’ve just checked the Norfolk fungi database and there are Spring Fieldcap records from March through to November, so maybe it just isn’t as seasonal now as it used to be.

Yes you are right with Redlead Roundhead for the reddish capped ones. The others are an Agrocybe sp - the commoner one in my area on woodchips is Wrinkled Fieldcap, A. rivulosa, but yours look more like (unseasonal) Spring Fieldcap A. praecox to me.

I'm starting to see a few large groups of fungi about now on my walks into Norwich. The first ones are False Chanterelle, Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca on wood chips, whilst the others are Paxillus sp. (perhaps P. obscuriporus but not checked yet) growing with birch on amenity grassland. 🍄📷

Just sent the wedding venue a long email pleading with them to manage their Buckthorn & Strangling Dog Vine. Legit they have such amazing beautiful trees and such a small and manageable area to work with! No excuses for buckthorn!!!

I posted this 2 years ago when I was covering my yard with wood chips and had gotten the pile down to near nothing and AI told me I looked like ai weiwei in this

it's a picture of me in front of a much smaller pile of woodchips in my driveway. I could pull my car in and back it out at this point. it's in the early evening and there are a bunch of vines behind me

The leaves look good so the tree is alive which means the mushrooms are eating things other than the tree like woodchips. Typically a good sign, mushrooms are often tree friends
