Drove out to Western Mass today to visit the Norman Rockwell Museum which has a Mad Magazine exhibit. Then made it to the Amherst Cinema to see Hustwit's Eno doc. A damned good day. Amherst makes sense to me. Pioneer Valley has been a housing bubble for years, combined with the high number of colleges and universities there that can't house all their students. It's a feeding trough for rental property owners.

Hubbell took Esther on tour with him, but after hostile reactions from audiences to her, this was abandoned. Esther returned home to Amherst and worked for a local man. When his barn burned down, Esther was convicted and spent a month in prison. Then the activity ceased. 🧵9/12
The Teed family lived in Amherst, Nova Scotia. The family consisted of Olive Teed, her husband Daniel and their two young children. Also in the house was Olive's sister Esther Cox, and Daniel's brother John Teed. Everything was quiet until the summer of 1878. 🧵2/12
