My gripe here is that going Vegetarian is THE way of doing that. Most folk hear "reduce your footprint" and think that means buying an electric car and taking shorter showers. Where as the meat industry accounts for almost all deforestation, one third of manmade GHG and nearly all environmental GHG
That's number six. Please read the list again more carefully. The most important way to reduce your personal carbon footprint is NOT the most important thing you can do to fight climate change.

It does have issues. Most don't have a choice in where their electric comes from, but we DO have a choice when it comes to what we drive. And our ~30 year trend of buying the biggest, most gas-guzzling vehicles is a perfect example of how many people have chosen to disregard their footprint.
Yes, this is a basic approach to quantifying these events. However, it does seem that an accumulation of 10 inches of rainfall in ~24 hours, just about no matter where you are, is usually associated with a flooding impact. And, conceptually, the larger that 10-inch footprint, the greater the impact.
