In our massive #iHunt zine about landlords, I wrote a long story about my terrible, painful experience with house flipping companies. So of course one of the sample monsters is a flipping company. I think I got the general vibe right for their terrible ads. I'm gonna puke.

Yellow advertisement banner. Says "We turn your lemons green!" Need to sell your house? Facing foreclosure? Inheritance? Code violations? Back taxes? We can help! 1-800-555-LIME Lime investments. It's lime time!" And there's a silly looking cartoon lime.

In #iHunt, landlords work basically the same as any other monster. However, they have one unique trait. Replacing one of their generic Aspect slots is what we call their "Excuse Aspect." This is how they sleep at night while siphoning labor from innocent victims.

Doing some #iHunt stuff. This zine is about landlords, so I gave landlords monster powers just like any other monster. This power is inspired by one of my favorite games, Dog Eat Dog by Liam Liwanag Burke. It's brilliant. READ IT.

Gift: Legal Rampage*
Cost: 2
Among the list of things in Mildred’s arsenal is an attorney who we would have said she found “in a Cracker Jack box” a few years ago. If you search his practice online, you’ll find thousands of one-star reviews from people whose lives he helped destroy through years of nonsensical litigation. Remember, attorneys don’t have to follow the law to ruin you—they just need to keep you on the defensive until you’re broke.
Mildred can give one (and only one at a time) of her tenants a Legal Limbo aspect with a free invoke or compel per scene. This makes life immensely tougher and more expensive. Worse, our attorney can dish out more and more bunk charges. So while O Overcoming this aspect will normally have an obstacle of +1, if it’s overcome, he can just re-establish it with +1 more to the obstacle. He can keep doing this until such a time he, or Mildred, are convinced to stop. Usually this means moving out, or Mildred goes after someone else.
Text: * This awful power is inspired by the amazing indie RPG Dog Eat Dog by Liam Liwanag Burke. It’s a game about colonial violence, you should absolutely read it. But, it changed the way I perceived game balance and insurmountable odds in a game. READ IT.

I in fact do have a lot of time for such nonsense. I don't know if Buffy would mean much to you but iHunt by Hunt is about a young woman getting by on a monster hunting app. It's a bit 4th wall breaky which increases as the books go on. Deal breaker for me I'm afraid but the 1st one is solid. 😀

@machineiv.bsky.social#iHunt contract: wizard grifter/exotic animal dealer who sells animal transformations to suspiciously wealthy furries, but instead of changing them back he sells them to zoos, aquariums, and such and then drains their bank accounts.
