I actually didn't know that, but as a linguistics dork I find it cool. (Plural morphology was pretty close to my area of specialization, but Nahuatl was not. I do know the word is Nahuatl though.)

FFT gets this right by making clubs/flails more or less unique to the Squire class But they fumble it by not including the macuahuitl as one of those clubs/flails

Pet peeve: everyone and their mother including the Macuahuitl as a wildly atypical “sword.” Rather than the coolest of many spiked/studden/flanged club weapons. GIVE ME CLUB WEILDERS AS AN ARCHETYPE DANGIT
